Adoptable Medium Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shots

Kit is just over a year old, neuter male border collie/lab cross. Is friendly with people but has never been around kids under the age of 11. They have not had much exposure to other dogs. They are fine with dog-savvy cats but would chase them if they ran. They are not good with chickens. They were crate trained as puppies, however haven’t been in a crate for several months. They like to be in the house but are not house trained as they have never spent extended periods in the house. He comes when called. Needs work on a leash and with basic manners.
He was surrendered because he doesn’t want to work on a farm but would make a great active buddy.

All stock dogs need lots of mental and physical stimulation to be happy and to stay out of trouble. A short walk around the block is not going to be sufficient. Herding breeds do best when they have a ”job” to do which occupies most of their day. This can be herding livestock, horseback riding, hiking in the mountains or on the beach, mountain biking, playing extended games of fetch, or agility games. They are incredibly smart and love to learn tricks and solve problems. Be sure that you research this breed carefully before committing to living with a herding dog.
